As of now, if we book an appointment for a patient twice with the same provider an alert will pop up to warn of double-booking the provider. Dr. Wang would like the same thing to be applied if the patient is being double-booked with different providers to avoid possible loss of time/income
As per Dr. Wang's request, he would appreciate a warning similar to this:
"Patient is/was already booked today. Do you wish to continue booking this time slot?"
Selection:“Yes or NO”
Given that the next appointment is only visible in the booking window or patient banner, having a system that alerts users if the patient already has an upcoming appointment would be beneficial. For instance:
If the next appointment is displayed in the banner (e.g., "Appointment with nurse on April 30th"), it's easily visible.
However, the second next appointment is not displayed in the banner (e.g., "Appointment with Doctor on May 5th"), users may not be aware of it unless they check the patient's history tab, which isn't always done by clerical staff upon booking.
To prevent accidental double bookings, implementing a pop-up alert or warning message would be highly beneficial. This would provide a timely reminder to users, helping them avoid unintentional duplicate appointments.
