[FORMS] Student supervision - Implement a way to force students to submit their forms for approbation in addition to the note itself

Affected user(s):

• This primarily impacts learner users (residents, interns, etc) and their supervisors

• This primarily impact the clinical staff

• This is not a problem per say, but the inception of this feature could better secure the workflow of learners

Task affected:

• Within the clinical note, when creating a form, learner users are able to fully create a note under their name, whereas they have no way of creating an exam request under their own name as Requesting Staff in the Exam Request section, essentially forcing them to select their supervisor as the Requesting Staff. The clinic would like to have a similar workflow for regular PDF forms to avoid issues that they have been having.

Impact:

• This does not save time, but rather secures the learner/supervisor workflow further by making sure the supervising provider has to check the form and not only the note.

• This could improve the workflow for all clinics that receive learner users.

Current state:

• There is currently no work around for this situation.

Competition consideration:

• TELUS's Medesync allows for configuration of dedicated supervisor users in the user's configuration, automatically making them see and approve everything the learner creates, for instance.
