[MEDICATION] Prescription - Automating the ratio of medications prescribed by weight using vitals entered in the chart

Affected user(s):
The affected users are physicians.
It primarily impacts physicians who prescribe medications that require weight-based dosage calculations.
This issue affects all physicians who handle such prescriptions, not just a small subset.

Task affected:
The problem occurs during the prescription workflow within MYLE’s prescription section.
Specifically, it arises when a physician needs to calculate a medication dosage based on the patient’s weight — a task that could be automated since the patient’s weight is already recorded in the chart.

Impact:
The task occurs frequently, particularly in pediatrics and other specialties where weight-based dosing is common.
Automating this calculation could save time for physicians during each affected prescription, reducing manual work and the potential for errors.
The overall impact would be improved efficiency, increased accuracy, and better user satisfaction within the prescribing process.

Current state:
Currently, physicians perform the dosage calculation manually outside of MYLE (for example, using a calculator or external tool), even though all the necessary data (patient weight, dosage formula) is already available in MYLE.
This adds extra steps, increases cognitive load, and introduces a small but significant risk of calculation error.

Competition consideration:
Some other EMR systems offer built-in weight-based dosage calculators that automatically compute and populate the correct dosage based on the recorded patient weight.
Adding this feature to MYLE would help align it with these competitors and improve the overall prescribing experience.
