Setting a custom default Patient Messaging limit for Portal accounts
Impact:
Users must repeatedly click the “Add 3” option to reach their desired messaging limit.
Current State:
Highly technology-driven clinics often have patients who were trained on previous EMR systems to communicate via Portal messages rather than phone calls. As a result, these clinics receive a high volume of incoming patient messages. The current default limit of five messages is insufficient and creates a risk of patients reaching their message limit. Many clinics operate patient messaging similarly to a support ticket system, requiring patients to be able to send messages at any time without restriction.
