Affected users: Primarily healthcare professionals, but potentially any clinic user who annotates and shares scanned documents with patients.
Task affected: Documents module — Scanned document annotation and workflow. Specifically, the step where a user clicks "Send to Portal" and needs to type a custom message in the text box while referencing the information written on the document underneath.
Impact: High cognitive load and risk of transcription errors. Because the "Send to Portal" pop-up window is static and completely covers parts of the document, users are forced to memorize the hidden data before triggering the action, leading to frustration and inefficiency during daily tasks.
Current state: The modal window is completely fixed. The only workarounds available are to memorize the content beforehand or to open a second instance of MYLE on a dual-monitor setup to view the document while typing on the main screen.
