Modification to the Week view function in Calendar

When in Calendar, set view to week(1), if you click on a date in the small calendar in the left-side pane(2), the calendar view changes back to day(3).

And if you click on Week from here to change the view, it takes you back to the current week instead of the future date you were looking at.

Can this be changed so that when you click on a date(2) from the Week view, the view format remains unchanged.
Can this be changed so that when changing the view between Day, Week, and Month, if the Calendar can remain on the date you were consulting, rather than bringing you back to the current date.
