Billing - The ability to create a quote for patient

– Affected user(s) : Users who send or print bills for client. Mostly administrators and secretaries.

– Task affected : When a patient requests a quote to get approved for insurance. In the patient file, in History, in Private Billing tab

– Impact : With this idea, the client will be able to save more time when requested to produce a quote for patients.

– Current state: Right now, the client creates her own quotes using excel.

– Competition consideration: The client mentioned that other EMRs had the option to create a quote as well as bills.

Suggested workaround: Use private billing in the patient file to generate a bill and include a note indicating that it’s a quote.

Issue with this workaround: Private bills display the visit date, which could cause problems if the client didn’t actually visit the clinic. This may lead to insurance claim rejections, as the quote is intended for pre-approval purposes.
