RESULTS [Lab Values] - Synonym dictionary between different denominations of the same lab value

– Affected user(s): Requested by Dr. Phillipe Nobert at GMF de Kamouraska, but every prescribing provider would benefit from it.

– Task affected: Trending and graphing of lab values and maintaining a global view on the patient's health status.

– Impact : Lab results are often transmitted under different names depending on the emitting establishment. To avoid missing critical information or confusion on their interpretation, it would be ideal to implement a synonym dictionary. For instance, Low density lipoids, LD lip could all be translated to LDL to allow for trending over the graphs and easier interpretation for providers.

– Current state It is not currently possible to translate these values into each other at all.

– Competition consideration: TELUS CHR has such a dictionary that can be configured as the providers request.
