Affected users: Patients using the online portal to book their appointments.
Task affected: This occurs during the online appointment booking process through the patient portal. Patients are currently able to book more than one appointment on the same day, even with different doctors. The client would like to have a way of restricting how many appointments a patient can book through the portal. Some patients booking lots of appointments every few days. The client would like to be able to restrict this for certain patients if possible.
Impact: Clinics must manually detect and cancel double bookings, which is time-consuming and prone to errors.
Current state: Clinics are forced to manually intervene to clean up these situations after the fact.
