Impact:
Users without smartphones or access to their email accounts may need to contact their IT department to request authorization to access email on their work computers, or to have an MFA app installed. This adds unnecessary friction and dependency on IT support and may be unable to users to work with different office computers at the same time.
Current state:
Users who do not use smartphones and cannot or prefer not to access their email have no alternative option to receive MFA codes by phone call. As a result, they must adapt to an inconvenient situation where they are required to have constant smartphone or email access.
