Currently, when a patient is removed from an appointment instead of the appointment being marked as cancelled, all links to the patient are lost. This makes it impossible for clinics to identify which patient was originally associated with the appointment, who performed the action, and when it was done.
This is problematic from a medico-legal and billing perspective, especially in cases of last-minute cancellations where fees may apply. Clinics need a way to access an audit trail showing appointment-related actions (such as patient removal, cancellation, or status changes), including the user who performed the action and the timestamp, even if the patient is no longer attached to the appointment.
Providing access to this historical information would improve accountability, reduce internal investigations, and help clinics manage disputes related to cancellations and missed appointments.
