Photos - ability to stock photos in MYLE

Information collected from Romina Barony Sanchez, nurse at MAclinique Sainte-Foy (URL gmfmcstf).

She works closely with the clinic's dermatologist, who is the only HCP using Medesync despite the rest of the clinic using MYLE.

Romina remarks that Medesync's flexibility with photos is a main factor for why the MD is resistant to switching to MYLE, and likely why many dermatologists elsewhere are also using Medesync.

Key elements reported by Romina :

  • Medesync mobile app allows HCP to take photos. HCP clicks 'use', and the photo is downloaded into the patient chart in the EMR. The photo is not saved on the phone.

  • Ability to start a note in the EMR, take a photo with the app, then annotate the photo in the EMR. MYLE equivalent = handwritten notes.

  • Referral for Mohs surgery: surgeons ask for the photo to be included with the referral/note

  • Medesync allows for multiple photos to be stocked in the patient file. HCPs are able to pull up 2 photos side by side for an easy comparison, ex. evolution of a lesion over time. This is the main reason why dermatologists prefer Medesync according to Romina
