Currently, Clientele rules for booking an appointment are limited to:
Assigned, Clinic, Open
This is not granular enough for doctors/nurses that build their schedules based on services that are targeted for pediatric (0-1, 2-5, 5-10) vs. adult patients.
Issue: Adult patients are booking Pediatric services; Pediatric patients are getting booked for Adult services
Impact: Administratif staff is forced to cancel appt's and reschedule them on a daily basis, creates frustration on patient side, and more work on admin side. Alternatively, if it is not rescheduled to another suitable time in the schedule, then the nurse has to find an empty pediatric room if the patient is a baby, or find an empty adult room if the patient is in adult. It takes extra time to travel between rooms in the clinic and takes away from care time.
Workaround: District Medical clinic has attempted to fix this situation by adding clear disclaimers on the Portal service name and in the Portal service description, to no end. Patients still booking timeslots not appropriate for their age group.
Solution: Do not allow patients to view or book an appointment if the service is not set to accept patients outside of a defined service-level criteria.
