PATIENTS: Include patient's Preferred Pronouns automatically on printed and faxed Consultation Requests

Affected users: All clinic staff (Healthcare Professionals, Nurses, and MOAs) who generate referral letters and the external consultants/specialists receiving the requests.

Task affected: Clinical Note module — Consultation Request workflow. Specifically, the generation of the final PDF document when a consultation request is printed or faxed out of MYLE.

Impact: High impact on patient satisfaction and clinical communication. Because preferred pronouns are missing from the generated referral PDF, external consultants frequently use incorrect pronouns, causing distress and offense to patients. It also creates administrative friction, as staff must remember to manually intervene to prevent these errors.

Current state: It is currently impossible to automatically map preferred pronouns onto a consultation request. To circumvent this, users must manually type the pronouns into the fax cover sheet, write them by hand on the printed document, or rely on memory to add them to text fields, which is highly prone to oversight.
