Affected users: All healthcare professionals (physicians, nurses and other health professionals) who author clinical notes in MYLE, especially those holding multi-specialty configurations or performing occasional note corrections.
Task affected: Clinical Note module — Note creation workflow. Specifically, the "Specialty" field is located in the header of a newly created clinical note.
Impact: Disrupted clinic analytics and compromised chart history accuracy. Although this behavior occurs contextually after a user manually corrects a previous note's specialty (e.g., changing Family Medicine to Pediatrics), MYLE unintuitively locks that corrected specialty for all subsequent new notes. If the provider does not carefully review the header every time, it leads to data entry errors, skewed clinic statistics, and requires tedious retrospective cleanups.
Current state: The system hardcodes a "sticky" behavior based on the last modified note value. To resolve the resulting errors, providers must manually open each mistakenly indexed clinical note one by one and fix the specialty dropdown field.
