Affected users: All clinic users, primarily Healthcare Professionals and MOAs who author clinical notes and need immediate access to contextual visual aids or handwritten records.
Task affected: Clinical Note module — Encounter creation and viewing workflow. Specifically, adding a feature to upload or drag-and-drop a PDF, JPEG, or other document types directly into an active clinical note.
Impact: Loss of clinical context and minor to moderate daily productivity drains (several minutes per instance, which escalates if staff are unfamiliar with the system's layout). When files must reside separately in the general Documents tab, the tab becomes cluttered ("clogged up"). Clinicians lose valuable time cross-referencing between tabs to find handwritten notes or photos relevant to a specific encounter.
Current state: The system does not allow inline attachments. Users are forced to upload the files globally to the patient's "Documents" tab and manually type a text cross-reference within the clinical note (e.g., "See handwritten notes/JPEG in documents tab"), heavily relying on memory and manual navigation.
