Affected users: MOAs, administrative staff, and triage nurses responsible for digitizing documents, processing incoming faxes, and linking them to patient files.
Task affected: Documents / Fax module — Incoming fax and document upload workflow. Specifically, when a user is actively linking an incoming document to a patient's profile and needs to perform an immediate clinical follow-up or update a consult request within that same patient's chart.
Impact: High daily productivity loss and administrative friction. Because this is a continuous, day-to-day task, forcing users to completely exit the fax module, navigate to the global search, open the chart, complete the task, and then find their way back to the incoming documents tab heavily disrupts the administrative workflow and wastes valuable time.
Current state: There is currently no hyperlink or shortcut available on the patient's name within the upload interface. Staff must upload the document, exit the incoming faxes screen entirely, look up the patient manually, complete the clinical notes/follow-up items, and then reopen the fax module to resume their work.
