Task affected: Patient Portal — Online appointment booking workflow. Specifically, when a patient attempts to book an appointment online using a Portal account associated with a deactivated or inactive patient file in MYLE.
Impact: Administrative time wasted and scheduling inefficiencies. Inactive patients occupying available slots prevents active patients from booking timely appointments. MOAs must spend time identifying these bookings, contacting the patient, and manually cancelling the appointment.
Current state: MOAs must manually monitor online appointment bookings, cross-reference each booking with the patient's chart status in MYLE, and manually cancel appointments created by deactivated patients.
