Request an Appointment via the Portal

The idea is that in addition to sending a message to the portal, the physician can request the patient to book an appointment. This status would be tracked until the patient books the appointment through the portal, to ensure that important appointments are not being missed.

Example Situation:
The doctor sees an abnormal result for a patient.

The doctor clicks the "request appointment" box within the patient portal message.

The doctor sets a date when they need to see the patient by (optional)

This item shows the yellow "pending" icon until the patient books that appointment.

Additional idea:
This could be linked within recalls. If the physician sends an appointment request to the patient it could automatically create a recall, which gets marked complete once the patient has booked their appointment.

Value:
This reduces time spent booking by the front desk staff, and reduces the need for a clinic to call a patient over and over and leave messages about booking important appointments.
